the best four winter activities in graubünden.

Winter is finally here! The most beautiful season in Switzerland begins. Hot chocolate in snow-covered landscapes, and dreamy mountain villages.

In Graubünden, many find a refuge from the gray and sad cities. My safe place is in the beautiful Swiss Alps. I always go on tours of discovery, especially in the Engadin and Val di Poschiavo. If you are looking for a full calendar with winter fun, this is the perfect place to be. No boredom!

My four highlights for you to enjoy the perfect swiss winter. Let yourself be inspired.

THE BEST 4 ACTIVITIES FOR YOUR BEST WINTER IN GRAUBÜNDEN.

BIRDY HIKE IN PROTENSINA

This hike is of course not called that, but I think it should be renamed to birdy hike in winter. You actually hike to the Roseg Glacier mostly in summer. In winter you can feed birds on the hiking trail. You don’t have to bring any birdseed with you. TIP: At the beginning of the path, there are a few bird feeders out of which you “can” pack a little food and set off on the way.

APÉRO

If you really want to get to know Swiss culture, you should hike to a mountain hut or take the gondola up. Sunbathe and enjoy an Apéro. an Apéro is between 1 pm and 6 pm, but it can also be earlier or later. It always depends on who you ask. In Graubünden, you usually order a Bündnerplatte. You can order a güpli (sparkling white wine) or en gspritze (wine with a dash of soda), or beer. for more warmth, a cup of hot chocolate or Ovi is just totally swiss and perfect. TIP: RIFUGIO SAOSEO

SLEDDING

It’s nothing new, but Switzerland has made sledding one size bigger. Mountain passes and hiking trails will be closed for a certain period and converted into toboggan runs. They are everywhere, but my favorite sledding trail is in Graubünden. Between Bergün and Preda is one of the most impressive ones. A toboggan run that meanders between the famous tracks of the Bernina Pass. If you drive long enough you can see the Bernina Pass winding up between the bridges. for more information and tips click here

SNOWSHOEING UNDER THE FULL MOON

That was one of the nicest things I did. To see the snow-covered alpine landscape in a different light was just magical. The hike was on the Bernina Pass. The view from Lago Bianco, Legal, and Diavolezza and the fine, glittering snow was simply magical. for more information click here

These are a few of many inspirations for your winter wish list or bucket list. stay tuned for more tips and inspiration from Switzerland.
