I say NO to FAST FASHION! – ONE YEAR NO MORE SHOPPING

No to new shoes, dresses, jeans, high heels, and many more.
I won’t add anything new from a factory to my wardrobe.
The old is adapted, upcycled or swapped.
Maybe some of you guys call me crazy!?!
That I refrain from shopping for a whole year.
But for a long time I can’t find pleasure in shopping. I think of people who sew the clothes. How they produce the clothes under bad conditions.
Do I really want to shove my hard-earned money up the ass of the companies?
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing for too long.
Through every article I bought I have supported companies that treat their own employees like slaves.
Only that I can satisfy my urge to buy quickly and cheaply.
NO NO NO, my money stays with me or with companies that I really want to support.
HOW, WHAT, WHY, I have already partially explained why above.
I will keep a diary and share my thoughts and my plans and of course the clothes I have sewn with you.
The self-experiment starts exactly today.
As with every one of my goals, there are rules that I follow with all possible means.
My rules as well as goals:
- no spontaneous purchases
- do not support a major fashion brand
- Don’t buy new clothes that I don’t need
- If I can’t sew it myself, only secondhand is allowed.
It doesn’t look like much, but I think anyone who cares about looks knows that it’s hard to stick to.
What I allow myself:
- Underwear only BIO and Sustainable
- Socks BIO and also Sustainable
- Hiking or gym shoes Sustainable and, if possible, second-hand
What do I hope from the whole action?!?
Does advertising tempt me to shop?
- Can I really hold out for a year?
- How do I go about not being able to buy anything?
- Can I really sew everything I need and want?
- is it a relief?
- Do I find my own style?
- Do I really need clothes to express my personality?
- Do I feel relieved that I don’t support anyone’s personal rights and harm the environment?
- Can I still look stylish without the latest trends?
- Take my sewing skills to a new level?
- How real is it to give up everything?
It will surely be the most difficult thing in my life that I have ever done.
What do you think of that? What are your questions?
